Disney Channel Play is a joint venture between Sky Gamestar, Walt Disney Internet Group and Walt Disney Television International featuring popular Disney characters and shows.

The brief was to create a multi-game service that featured established Disney film characters and popular TV shows from Disney Channel.

Disney Channel Play was developed to sit behind Disney Channel. Viewers are able to link from Disney Channel to the interactive games service simply by pressing the red button on their remote control as well as directly from Gamestar via the Sky Interactive menu. The service is available on a pay-to-play basis with a trial element available for free.
Offering up to three games at any time, this interactive games service features some of Disney’s most popular TV programmes, movies and characters, including those from The Lion King and Aladdin. It showcases both established film characters and popular shows from Disney Channel such as “Kim Possible”, “Lilo & Stitch” and “Recess”; providing deeper interaction with channel brands and characters and strengthening brand loyalty.

"This represents another extension to our successful partnership with Sky, as well as our existing and already popular enhanced TV applications behind Disney Channel. Sky’s leading position in iTV allows us to bring this exciting service to life.”
John Hardie, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Disney Branded TV Europe, Middle East and Africa
