A text (teletext) service is an information service available on your television and will traditionally publish content such as news, weather, sport, holiday offers and finance. Some services, such as Sky’s digital text service, enable viewers to access the information while continuing to watch TV in quarter screen.

The advances in digital text now offer the advertiser a much greater range of opportunities. Digital text pages include full colour, graphics and photo-quality stills to fully represent advertisers’ products and can offer a fast, simple low-cost entry point into interactive advertising.

Advertisers can present their products and offers on a multi-page text site, which viewers can reach either by jumping into the site via the red button during an interactive television ad (jump to text ad), pressing the blue button from a banner ad while viewing text or inserting the appropriate page number.

Advertisers can place banner ads on text pages, which will either serve to reinforce their association with the content on that page (for example, sponsorship of a major sporting tournament) or direct viewers to the multi-page text site.
