With over 8 million subscribers in the UK and a target of 10 million subscribers by 2010, Sky enables advertisers, broadcasters, site operators and other interactive service providers to reach more viewers in more homes than any other digital platform.

Sky digital subscribers who use interactive services are more likely to be in the 18 to 34 age group than subscribers who don’t. They are also more likely to be in the valuable ABC1 social group, indicating a higher purchasing power than non-interactive service users.

Every year, Sky invests millions of pounds in research and development to ensure digital satellite subscribers continue to benefit from the most advanced television services available. For example, Sky recently introduced the innovative digital video recorder technology called Sky+. With Sky+ viewers can record and store programmes and even pause and rewind live TV. The growth in this technology offers advertisers a wealth of new opportunities to reach viewers through interactive TV.
